When I saw Nancy’s charm necklace last Friday I was seized with a desire to have one of my own. Hence our trip to Beadissimo that very afternoon.

The main inspiration was the tiny scissors I found in the button section of Joann Fabrics. I tried to use charms to remind me of all the things that make me happy- scissors for sewing, a little hand for crafting, a seaglass bead for the beach, a leaf and “flower” for my tiny garden, and the center pendant is just something pretty to anchor it all. I would have liked to find a little book or pen or typewriter, but no luck. I do have a dear brass envelope pendant from Papier Valise, and if I can find some brass chain I like, I may make myself another one for when I’m not feeling like silver (I have the little scissors in gold-tone too).

It hangs in just the right place, and jangles when I move around

I’m still working on my Easter dress (with the pretty tulip fabric) and hope to have it done by tomorrow! Meanwhile I’m trying to organize my crafty stash, which is totally out of control. I’ll either have to do a major destashing, or vow to shop only in my closet for all crafty projects for at least the next month or so. I get so inspired and want-y about shiny new things (did you see that Vogue just released their Spring/Summer patterns?!), but I shall make an effort to be inspired by what I already have.
