I don’t think I ever would have thought of turning that fabric into a dress–it is too cute! So glad you included that side shot because I loooove the chevrons!
Hello, I´ve been comment- shy untill now but I really must insist on gushing about the darling shirtdress! It is beyond wonderful!
As another mom, it does take eternity to get anything done with a child. I do my pattern drawing ( I`m one of those who sew and knit everything they wear. Underwear excluded )at night after I get the kid to sleep. All other pastings and sewings and so forths that come, take place on another night… and then another. It does take more time BUT it´s doable.
WOW! ZOWIE! FABULOUS! An amazing and adorable, one-of-a-kind garment, beautifully made. I love how it’s sophisticated and whimsical at the same time. SUPER cute! I’m impressed.
I used the same McCalls pattern myself last summer – also, with altered sleeves. I added little cap sleeves for a summer dress and used a brown cotton with tiny, colorful polka dots.
Yours looks fabulous – great workmanship and, of course, the fabric.
You are a goddess. Love it!

Oh my! You look excellent in that dress! How lovely. If you’ve got a spare dress just like that in my size, send it my way.
