I am signed up with our CSA too, and while it’s been better (last year, my first year was hard!), I also made an utter failure of the dandelion greens. Ugh. I think the best thing we made so far was the leek and potato soup.
I just got the Alabama Stitch book for my birthday but haven’t made anything from it. I need to make the corset shirt soon though because every time I see one made I love it. Love it!
Dandelion green are bitter more like chard or collard greens cooked (though uncooked chard and collard greens taste a bit like broccoli and dandelion greens simply taste bitter uncooked.) I have a book called “Wild foods field guide and cookbook” that says for dandelion greens:
“…it’s a good idea to blanch or par-boil them before proceeding…” with cooking them. I haven’t tried this method yet but plan to try it this summer. My guess is that salting and spicing them will make a huge difference too.
hi! i found your blog through the heather ross flickr group- your work is lovely! and your corset looks fantastic. it is such a great design- super flattering! i just finished the bloomers skirt and i can tell you truly that the hand-sewing time is worth it
The shirt looks great! I’m working on a project from that same book right now, or at least inspired by. (Hand-stitching on some appliques to fix a shirt that’s getting some holes in it.) I’d love to make that t-shirt corset, though. And one of the skirts. I might end up machine-sewing it, at least in part, though!
I have the book and love the corset, and yours is great! Can’t wait to try it myself! (But I have the same time issues as you….) I found your site through House on Hill Road. Fun stuff, thanks for having such a lovely blog!
Great job on the corset! It is also on my list of things to make, but I think I’m gonna take a stab at the skirt first. I’ve already cut out the pattern…!
CUTE! I want to see more photos of the shirt!!

Shirt is definitely hot! I am the same way about cleaning/organization. I am getting better at it, slowly though!

That’s a great job! It looks really flattering and I love how the words are kind of hidden in the center area. Really nice job!
WOW! great job with that T-shirt – it looks totally modern, fitted, and cute!
