Noooo!!!! That's how I got into the books...because the feel of the miniseries was so beautiful, and when I read the books, I found they had captured it so perfectly! (The miniseries captured the book, not the other way around.) And whenever I talk about it with anyone else, they all say the same thing..that it was perfect! Tell you what was a travesty, though...that last, tacked on one, where they were in the war, and so totally, completely changed the story...I mean, HECK..that was when WALTER died..not when they hadn't even gotten married!! I must admit, I haven't cracked it open, what with my nearly 11 week old baby getting into my baking time. Go figure! And I agree with you on the Anne of Green Gables casting.
