HMB loves a good dance party, so we’re always looking for new music that she likes but doesn’t make me want to cover my ears and scream. Thus was born the idea for the Mixtapes for Minis Music Swap! The lowdown:
1. By Friday, November 21, please e-mail me belleepoquewhimsy[!at] gmail [!dot] com to say “I’m in!” and include your mailing address and blog address if you have one, so I can update this page to let everyone know who is playing along.
2. Make a playlist of around 60 minutes-worth of your favorite kid/baby songs– the ones that they bop around to and you still sort of like after hearing 8 million times. They don’t have to be by designated “kid music” artists. It’s all good– Cole Porter, jazz, showtunes, whatever, just something you know to be kid-friendly (i.e. fly-over-their-head saucy lyrics are ok, acknowledged “bad” words, not so much).
3. Monday, November 24 you will receive a list of recipients for your playlist– this will be up to but no more than 10 people, depending on how many decide to play along.
3. Burn up to 10 copies of the playlist to a CD. Make sure to write/print out a list of the songs and the artists, and make/decorate a protective sleeve for each disc.
4. By or before Friday, December 5 please mail off your CDs to the people whose names and addresses you received.
5. Receive as many CDs as you sent out and dance the holidays away!
Optional: Lots of participants means more music, so if you like, please grab a copy of the button (clearly I am not a graphic designer):

and display it on your blog. You can link it to this page if you’re so inclined!
Yay!
